I am sitting at my computer with the windows open this morning. It is a pleasant 47 degrees after the 90 degrees of yesterday afternoon.

Opening the windows and cooling down the house was my intention, but I got a bonus.

The wind is just slightly blowing, well, for South Dakota it is slightly blowing, and it must have turned just right to “speak” to me as it rushed by the window.

I love the sound of the wind. It gives trees, grass, open areas and even windows a voice. Sometimes it even whistles to me when it pushes the screen door along its track, to open even more so it can come in to hug me with its coolness.

Nutty Fudge Day

Today is "Nutty Fudge Day" and I made two kinds of fudge for the workplace friends.

This is the recipe I liked best:

Rocky Road Fudge

3 cups (18 oz) milk chocolate chips
2 Tbs butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Dash salt
1½ tsp vanilla
½ to 1 cup chopped nuts
2 cups miniature marshmallowsLine 8 or 9-inch square pan with foil; set aside. In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips, butter with milk, vanilla and salt. Remove from heat, fold in nuts and marshmallows. Spread evenly into pan. Chill 2 hours until firm. Cut into squares, store in refrigerator.

This is my blog for sharing what makes me happy.

I love trying new recipes - especially cookies and candies.

I also enjoy my Spring flowers.
